Luke arrived in Zhongshan on Wednesday evening and has been staying at our apartment. He has been making sure things here are prepared for camp and for the arrival of the team. They arrive this evening in HK! Camp time is officially here!
This has sort of been a full circle moment for me. I have been a mere observer of all things camp related. Andrew has been functioning as site coordinator for the camp. He has spent tons of time making sure that things from this end are prepared for the team. I'm so proud!
We have now hosted a second person that introduced us to China via our classes at HU. He invited me to take part in English Camp and I had other profs that also recommended that I participate so I did. I came to China kicking and screaming in 2012 (quite literally..ask my husband..). I thought I would hate it. I just went because it would be a good experience. The reality of the "good experience" was that China changed my life. I brought Andrew with in 2013 and he fell in love with this place as well.
Four years later, we are living and working here. We are a part of a community. We have friends that are like our own family. Our lives have been enriched in countless ways.
