Kindergarten CHES team

It's the second day of school for all of the groups teaching, and for the kindergarten group, we are excited to experience our 4,5,and 6 year olds again! Yesterday definitely felt like any first day should: the kids were very energetic and rambunctious, but they were adorable and fun! All 4 of us in the Kindergarten (plus our wonderful group leader Holly) were tired but ready to tackle the day! The jet lag, language barriers (with both our Chinese teachers and the kids) proved to throw a curveball at us; but I think I can speak for our whole group when I say that we were flexible and climbed over the challenges together. I had to adapt some lesson plans because of the levels of my students, but it worked and the kids had a good time at school for the first day. The young students love books and animal pictures, and truly seem to want to grasp English to their fullest potential, which is great. My class was a little rowdy: there are a couple of very energetic boys, but the cuteness and their gentle spirits make up for all of the craziness they throw at us! The best part was watching them dance and sing to different songs in the gym during music time.. They definitely already knew a lot of the songs! The food was also interesting but good! We had sweet rolls for tea time that were absolutely wonderful! I think overall the kindergarten group is excited to start today and see the kids again! It's tiring work, but oh so worth it! - Kelsey Younce
